Speaker Bio
Rabbanit Ellyse Borghi was born and raised in Melbourne, Australia. She spends her days as a children’s lawyer for Legal Aid and her nights learning and teaching Torah. She was the first woman in Australia to receive smicha (Orthodox rabbinic ordination) from Yeshivat Har’El in Jerusalem in 2019. Rabbanit Ellyse is dedicated to ending abuse in the Jewish divorce process through her training to appear in Batei Din (Jewish Rabbinic Court) with Yad L’Isha and her work with Unchain My Heart. Rabbanit Ellyse is passionate about enabling wide access to the beauty of Jewish tradition and encouraging people to bring their full selves into Jewish life.
